Had an opportunity to get a fantastic deal on the RockHard 4×4 JKU Sport Cage, so of course I took advantage. The cage is shipped bare steel with instructions to test fit before painting or powder coating. Of course I sent mine out for powder right when it came in – YOLO. TopKoat of Kennedale has been handling my recent powder tasks and they did a great job. Now comes the fun. I removed the top from the Jeep and began fitting the dash sides and drilling the pinch seam holes. After the dash sides were fitted I got the lower dash bar in place and clamped it in. This cage has a really nice fit but can be a bear to install. After I got the dash bar done I moved to the overhead bars. This was not as labor intensive as the dash bits, but patience was needed to get everything centered and aligned properly. This install probably took me a little longer than it should have because I was having to be really careful with powder coated parts. I am please with outcome and look forward to getting the rest of the cage purchased and installed.
