Last Three Dream Mods, One Might Become Reality…

I have told myself and others that the Jeep build has to come to an end. This means that the build completion list can only contain very few must-have items with no time constraints, but I have to stick to the list. I got the list narrowed down to four modifications, well three really since two are combined, that I could perform to consider my JKU build complete. Here is the list in the order in which I would like to do them.

  1. GenRight Roll Cage with B-Pillar Delete. This would involve removing the RockHard 4×4 sport cage and selling it. Assembling the GenRight cage and sending off to powder coat before final install. B-Pillar would be cut, fitted, and welded once the GenRight cage was back in the Jeep. Finally, and this is the tricky part, paint to match the bodywork done for the B-Pillar delete. $4500
  2. Fusion 4×4 Axles! 60/40 front axle with 4:10 gears, ARB air locker, RCV 35 spline shafts, Reid Racing knuckles, 1310 yokes, Dynatrac ball joints, and new unit bearings. 60 semi-float rear with 35 spline chromoly shafts, and repositioned spring perches. Both axles in stock width and 5 on 5 lug patterns (to avoid new wheels). $10,500
  3. L86 Gen 5 6.2 liter engine swap with 8L90E transmission with RPM Extreme swap kit. $25,000

Well, it looks like the list order will be modified slightly! I have a 2018 Gen5 6.2l L86 mated with an 8L90E automatic 8-speed transmission in my possession. All I need is RPM Extreme to come through for me on the DIY kit to get the install done! I am so stoked! The hardest part of all this the timeline. It looks like RPM Extreme won’t have my kit ready until the end of the year (sad face). No worries though. I have some time to source the other parts I will need to complete the swap outside of the kit. Stay tuned!
