What now? That seems to be the general statement around the garage. There is an old adage that says if it can go wrong, it probably will. Progress is being made in all areas of the build, but the list is not shrinking. I was able to get all the wiring installed for the air lockers, and also get the new front air hoses run through the frame rails to the rear of the Jeep. The solenoids, plumbing, and electrical are complete for all the air systems, including the relocation of the 4 corner air system. I still have a wishlist item to tie the 4 corner air system into my onboard air however, that is really low priority at the moment. I filled the axle housings with Lucas Oil HD 85-140w non-synthetic last night and made notes of new fill volumes. Tonight is battery cable night. I need to run a few accessory wires from under the TIPM and then get the battery install wrapped up.
There was a slight problem with the front axle and the tabs for my PSC hydro assist steering. The tabs that were welded on were for a steering stabilizer, so the spacing and bolt hole diameter are incorrect. I ordered a set of Synergy ram tabs. Now I get to cut off the stabilizer tabs and weld on the ram tabs. That process will have to wait because the aluminum tubing for my tie rod and drag link have been on back order for a while. I need the tie rod installed so I can get the ram tab height correct. Insert Final Jeopary theme music here, or the Benny Hill Show outro music. More updates to come, and the engine should be turning over soon!
