LT Swap – HP Tuners

I took some time away from the Jeep to get a few other projects taken care of around the house and also to take some time off. I have been spending 4-5 hours a night and 20+ hours per weekend trying to get things back together since my axles arrived. The Jeep is assembled with the exception of the grille, front bumper, and winch. I am leaving those off so I can visually inspect trans cooling and power steering cooling returns before they get hidden behind a bunch of other stuff.

So the previous post mentioned the Jeep would crank but not fire. I have been working with RPM Extreme to get some ideas. I sent an HP Tuners ECU read file from the GM side tonight so hopefully we can trade some ideas and tunes to get to a solution. I hit another snag that I didn’t research too well, or simply researched enough to misunderstand. My TCM model is locked by GM – I knew that. I didn’t look far enough into “locked”. Today I discovered that my TCM is so locked it can’t even be read. Heavy sigh. It is going to set me back another $400 to get the TCM unlocked and have the ability to change the shift points on the transmission. I will work on that tomorrow. More than likely I will just have HP Tuners expedite me a knew unlocked TCM instead of sending mine back and forth for the next week or so. The next update should be a video of the Jeep running. Fingers crossed.
