In our most recent trail outings, I have noticed quite a bit of fender rubbing when the Jeep is in heavy front stuff situations. In other words when the suspension is fully compressed the tire is rubbing on the bottom of the fender. In some cases this can take away valuable articulation, or flex. I […]

One Year Later…
It has been one year since I bought the Jeep. There have been numerous modifications, concepts, and “temporary” changes. Hard to believe the mall crawler on the Acura lot has evolved into a decent trail rig in just a year.
Trip to Barnwell Mountain
After making several changes to the Jeep it was time to take it out to play. We packed up and headed to Barnwell Mountain Off Road Park. Barnwell is still one of my favorite places to wheel. The unmistakable red mud will stain everything it touches, but that won’t keep us from going back to […]
Glamour Shots
After I got the axles installed I took the Jeep out for a test drive. I ended up in a gated neighborhood just north of my house that has spectacular hilltop views, and a conservation lake down below the circle drive at the end of the street. The Jeep decided to pose for some pics […]
Axle Shaft and Ball Joint Upgrades
The Jeep performed great on the trails each time we have taken it out. Since I have committed to building this as a well used trail rig, there are several items that need to be strengthened before we encounter a break. Jeep has a history of weak links and the axles are one of those […]
Artec Aluminum Belly Pan
While taking the Jeep on the last few off road adventures we noticed the bottom side of the Jeep was taking a real pounding. The only real solution to protect expensive components under there is a belly skid. I chose the Artec full aluminum belly skid and heavy duty crossmember. One of the reasons I […]
Rough Country Differential Skids
I decided that I wanted to be able to protect the differential housing with a skid plate of some sort. This topic has been debated ad nauseam with differing opinions from each person you speak with. Some say it is not needed. Some say it helps. I decided I wanted the protection. I went with […]

Light Bar Be Gone!
Light bars… say what you will about light bars. I will personally say ‘no’ to light bars. They are loud. They also whistle while driving. They are kinda ugly in my opinion. With these reasons in mind I removed the light bar that was already on my Jeep when it was purchased.
RGB Rock Lights
I figured I would jump into the world of rock lights. I ordered a set of 8 pod RGB rock lights with Bluetooth controller from Amazon. Each pod has a separate wire that had to be run from the pod location back under the hood and connect to the controller. The controller power is switched […]
Oops! PSC Bracket Problem
While detailing the Jeep after we got back from Barnwell, I noticed the PSC Hydraulic Assist Ram mounting bracket was bent. Not exactly sure on which wheeling trip this happened, but it will need to be addressed pretty soon. As far as I can tell it doesn’t look like the bracket will bend any further […]
