Several days have passed with the Jeep in the garage with very small tasks being completed. I was able to clean quite a bit of the engine compartment to get ready for the amount of work to do. Yesterday I received several packages from RPM Extreme which included the radiator, wiring harness, motor mounts, transmission […]

LT Swap – Day 3
Today is prep for engine pull day. Most of the work today will be under the Jeep and in the fender wells so no timelapse video. Started this morning by removing the catalytic converters on both sides. The fun side was the passenger side because I had to remove the front upper control arm to […]

LT Swap – Teardown Day 2
Got an early start today to work on clearing the trans cooler, power steering cooler, and AC condenser. The trans cooler hoses were tangled in the AC condenser hard lines, it was a little tricky to get things clear without making a huge mess. It would be really nice not to trash the garage floor […]

LT Swap Has Officially Begun
I finally got the green light from the boys at RPM Extreme to start my harness and swap kit. The order has been placed and the garage cleanout is complete. Today I started the teardown of the 3.6. The Warn winch had to come off which I was absolutely dreading. In reality, it came right […]

Rock Rail Redo
When I bought the Jeep it already had really cool looking rock sliders that I had not ever seen, and have had trouble finding where they came from. My guess is they were an eBay score. While wheeling in Utah and Texas it was quickly becoming apparent that the really cool rock rails could not […]

Rockin’ the RockHard 4×4 Sport Cage
Had an opportunity to get a fantastic deal on the RockHard 4×4 JKU Sport Cage, so of course I took advantage. The cage is shipped bare steel with instructions to test fit before painting or powder coating. Of course I sent mine out for powder right when it came in – YOLO. TopKoat of Kennedale […]

Flat for Flex
In our most recent trail outings, I have noticed quite a bit of fender rubbing when the Jeep is in heavy front stuff situations. In other words when the suspension is fully compressed the tire is rubbing on the bottom of the fender. In some cases this can take away valuable articulation, or flex. I […]

Light Bar Be Gone!
Light bars… say what you will about light bars. I will personally say ‘no’ to light bars. They are loud. They also whistle while driving. They are kinda ugly in my opinion. With these reasons in mind I removed the light bar that was already on my Jeep when it was purchased.
