With the Jeep setup coming along we decided to go check out another off-road park near Gilmer, Texas. Barnwell Mountain ORV Park is a little over 2 hours from the house, however with a Bucee’s Travel Station at the halfway point, the drive is not that bad. If you are planning to frequent Barnwell ORV […]

Nittos Mounted on Method 105s
Finally got all the Cooper ATs dismounted from the Method beads, and go the new Nitto Trail Grappler MTs swapped on. This process is tiring! At times breaking J beads on a tire manually can make you look like a gorilla at the zoo. Anyway, after Cindi got a good laugh at me breaking beads, […]
From Coopers to Nittos
The Cooper AT/3s lasted a little over 3 months. They weren’t looking so hot on the Jeep and the grip experience at Bridgeport back in November left me a little underwhelmed. The ATs will be replaced by a set of Nitto Trail Grappler 37×12.5-17. The Nitto Trail Grappler has a proven off-road reputation and should […]
Time to Correct the Front Shock Mounts
When the lift was put on the Jeep, it was put on an indexing ramp (RTI) to evaluate how flexible it was going to be and also to check for binding and rubbing. While on the ramp it was noted that the front shock bodies were rubbing on the frame at any decent articulation. I […]
First Trip to Bridgeport
Decided to take the newly updated Jeep to Bridgeport’s Endeavor Offroad Adventure Park. Had a great time with Logan and Cindi, and Logan’s friend Matty. We ended up on a few trails that put the Jeep to work. With the seasonal rains the trails were pretty muddy and the Cooper ATs were gumming up and […]

Just Say ‘No’ to 20s
I bought the Jeep with some really nice (and pricey) Fuel wheels that looked great! Unfortunately in this case, good looks don’t translate to a good ride. The problem with 35 inch tires on 20 inch rims is the lack of sidewall to cushion the ride. Also with a stiff sidewall along with a mud […]
Parts Back from DFW Coating!
Decided to break down all the new springs, control arms, track bars from the Rock Krawler kit and the bead rings from the Methods to send out for some powder coating. DFW Coating in Justin, TX handled the job and did a fantastic job! Now to wire brush threads anbd reassemble all the joints.
Time for Beads
Found a good deal on some Method 105 beadlock wheels. Should be a great add for airing down on the trails.
Rock Krawler Brown Santa!!
Today my Rock Krawler 3.5 X-Factor lift kit came in. It included new springs, upper and lower mid-length control arms for all corners. adjustable front and rear track bar, rear track bar relocation bracket, spring correction wedges, sway bar disconnects! Time to disassemble and send out black parts for red powder coat!
